Coverage With Evidence Development

Refers to limited coverage (e.g., for particular clinical indications or practice settings) for a new technology in parallel with specified data collection to provide stronger evidence about the effectiveness, safety, or other impacts of the technology, or additional evidence pertaining to broader uses of the technology, of interest to payers. This enables some patient access to the technology while reducing uncertainty through new evidence generation and real-world experience to inform revised coverage policies as well as clinical practice decisions.
